Last Minute Gift Camp

I finally have taken the pictures to show you what projects will be offered at the Last Minute Gift Camp on December 12 from 1-6pm. Please RSVP by December 6 and let me know how many of which projects you would like to do! I will only prepare for what is "ordered"!

NOTE: The samples are just that...samples. You will be able to customize your project to suit you or the gift recipient. I have a lot of different papers for you to choose from so you can make the gift your own!

OK, now for the goodies!

First is a memo board made from a cookie sheet. The black space on the left uses Stampin' Up!'sChalkboard Decor Elements. The right side is Elegant Soiree DSP and features a 2011 mini calendar and space to put notes. You will also make two magnets to hold your notes to the board! I'm not sure if you can tell but it will hang up by a ribbon knotted on each side. Cost of this project is $7.00!

Desktop Dry Erase Board - this is a gift for my 10 YO son's teacher (it's a good thing she doesn'tread my blog!!). It uses an acrylic frame and the Celebrations DSP. The name was die cut with the bigshot and the GoGo Boots alphabet dies. Again, you will be able to customize this project with different papers and of course, the name! Cost of this project is $5.00.

Notecard Set - You can personalize your set with a monogram or make them thank you or all occasion cards. I used a retired DSP called Cottage Wall but again, you can choose the paper you want to use. This set will include the tin and 6 notecards (3.5 x 5) and 6 envelopes. Cost of this project is $7.00

Candle and Tile Candle Plate - Nothing gets a "WOW" like watching someone try to figure out how you stamped on that candle! It's really very easy! This set features the Bells & Boughs stamp set. You will make both the candle and the stamped tile plate. Cost for this project is $5.

Ghirardelli Boxes - Just a sweet little treat for stocking stuffers, the mailman, hairdresser, or anyone on your gift list. It uses the new Northern Flurry embossing folder and the Matchbox die for the bigshot. Cost of this project is $1.50 per box (candy included).

Nugget Tin - This adorable tin has 12 Hershey Nuggets inside. Each candy is wrapped in Candy Cane Christmas DSP but you can change the paper to suit your taste! Cost of this project is $5.

I may have a couple of other choices to suprise you with on December 12th. They will all be under $3. I just have so many ideas and haven't had the time to make samples of them all!

Cookie Sheet Calendar Class

This is my "prototype" for my class on January 10th. I used an old Simply Scrappin' Kit to make it and it's not my favorite colors but this will give you the general idea for my class on January 10th. You get to choose your own paper and colors so they will all be different and I'm sure much cuter than this one! Let your creativity take flight! Tricks and Treats Class

This was a special class that I planned for a class I held at Broer's Flower Shop in Eudora. The owner, Heather, is holding different crafting classes there now and invited me to teach some stamping classes! Our next class there will be next Saturday, November 14th and will be the same projects as my Christmas card SAS #3. I will be having another session of it at my home on Sunday, November 22. WOW! It's been awhile since I posted again! The summer and getting the kiddos back to school was a busy time for me! I'm soooo glad they are back to school so I have time to play again!

These are the cards we made at my Christmas Card Stamp a Stack this weekend. The girls made 4 each of the 4 designs. I kept them fairly simple since I had new stampers coming. We will be having another session on October 11 and the third session on November 22. I will be posting the cards for the next session late this week or early next so come back to see what we will be making on October 11.

Hostess Club projects for April!

Hey everybody!! Sorry I'm behind again! These are the hostess club projects that we made at

the Club meeting in April! The first one is a simple card using Echoes of Kindness (a Level 2 Hostess Set) and the SAB Designer paper called Delicate Dots. The ribbon is the white Organza ribbon (#114319). Simple but beautiful!

The next project we made is a Mini Magazine Holder with 4 3x3 notecards with envelopes inside. Again, we used the Delicate Dots Designer Series paper from Sale-a-bration! (I had a ton of this left so was just using up some of it!)

For those of you who are receiving the parts and pieces to make these, here are some simple instructions for putting the magazine holder together!

1. First you need to cut on the long side in to the inch mark at each of the score lines.

2. Starting from the bottom - fold up to form the bottom of the box, the sides will be double

layered, folding the outside over the side and adhereing on the inside.

3. The back will fold and you will adhere to the inside of the box.

4. For the DSP wrap around the holder, start at the back and wrap around overlapping.

5. Use a glue dot on the back to hold the ribbon still, wrap around and secure with glue dots on

the front.

6. Then just cover the seam with the Bashful Blue Simple Flower Diecut.

The cards are very simple and self explanitory! If you have any problems, just give me a call!

Karen's Getting Married!!

My friend Karen is getting married and asked me to help her make invitations and treat boxes! This picture is before all the final changes but it's the best one I took! LOL! I am such a bad photographer! The boxes that don't have anything except the daisies on them now have their names and wedding date as well as the daisies. Also the box with the "Fairytale" verse on it is slightly different with the verse layered on black first and then onto the box andwe used a different daisy punch and added additional daisies. We also used black ribbon for everything and none of the Soft Sky ribbon!

This picture shows the complete project! We made 4o invitations with stamped envelopes, 8 of the "Fairytale" boxes for the wedding party, 30 Mini Pizza boxes that will hold sugar cookies wrapped in parchment paper and stamped with the Polka Dot background, 20 One-sheet boxes, and a large bag of Hershey Nuggets wrapped in parchment paper, tied on the ends with linen thread and then wrapped in Designer Series Paper. Then we punched daisies and daisy centers and used mini glue dots to attatch then to the candies! I think those took the longest to make out of everything!

Hostess Club - March

Good grief, has it really been a month since I posted! I can't believe the way time flies! Life is busy with the kidlets and Sale-a-bration was fabulous this year! I can't believe it's over already,but now we have a retiring list to look forward to at the beginning of May and a new catalog coming July 1! WOOHOO!

Here are the Hostess Club projects we made for March!

The basket card uses the Basket and Blooms Sizzix Die (#113484)! Technically, it only uses half of the basket though! The grass is a strip of Green Galore and cut with paper snips to look like grass. The eggs use various Designer Series papers cut with the wide oval punch (#112082).
The base of the card included with your project materials is Barely Banana, I was running low so, I made my sample with Gable Green!

The Butterfly Box uses two Sizzix dies, the Top Note (#113463) and the Beautiful Buttlerflies die (#114507). The butterflies are cut with Pink Pirouette and Candy Lane Designer Series paper. You can't tell from this picture but...you build the box and then wrap your piece of ribbon around the box (secure on the side seam with Sticky Strip) and put one Top Note on the bottom and one on the top! Hint: Stamp your sentiment on the Top Note piece before attaching it to the top of the box! The ribbons are run through holes punched with your 1/8" hole punch and set eyelets in the holes, then run the ribbon through and tie! For the butterlies, add a drop of glue to the back of the small butterfly and adhere the body to the center of the larger butterfly, then wrap pink gingham ribbon around (for antenna) and secure with the brad! I used a small piece of sticky strip to secure the butterflies to the box!

The Easter Basket is made with 4 Scalloped Envelope (#113462) diecuts. You will snip the tabs off of two of them and lay out flat on the table; one with tabs, one without tabs, etc. then glue the tabs to the adjoining envelope. When you get them all connected, you will attach the last tab to the first envelope to form the box. Fold in the bottom flaps and add glue, set it on the table to square it up, then press down inside the box to adhere! Next you will glue the DSP strip to the scallop punched strip! Next, you punch two holes in one of the flaps, (this will be the front of your basket). Glue the other three flaps down. Attach the handle to the box with the brads. Wrap the celery ribbon around the box on top of the three flaps you glued down (I found it helps to secure the center of the ribbon to the back of the basket with a glue dot!), then run the ribbon through the holes on the front and tie in a bow!

I'm sure that was boring reading but I wanted to give you some of the ins and outs for creating your projects! I hope these instructions made a little sense! I'm not good at typing up directions! If you have questions, don't hesitate to call or e-mail me!

Hostess Club - February

Isn't this too cute? This is our Hostess Club project for February! It is made with the Scalloped Notes from Stampin' Up! You use two envelopes and a 6 x 6 piece of cardstock for the base and one of the scallop notes for the closure!

This is one that I created from one that my Stampin' Sister Charmaine (Hey Charmaine!!) sent to me! Inside the envelopes are pull tabs that you can add additional pictures or journaling on!

My girls will get packets and directions with their orders to create their own! They will all be a little different using different papers since there are only two sheets of DSP in each pattern in the paper packs but they will all be adorable!!! I hope they enjoy putting them together as much as I did!!

On a side note - I went to the St. Louis area for a stamping weekend with some of my online friends this weekend! I had a BLAST! Thanks to Debi, Alicia, Chris, and Micki for a wonderful time! We stayed at Debi's home and stamped (of course), chatted, ate awesome Sloppy Joe's (thanks Dave!), laughed, and learned until the wee hours of the morning both nights! The lack of sleep is catching up with me now but boy did we have fun getting to know each other and spending time together! We really need to do this often!!

OK, the lack of sleep is hitting me now! I'm off to take a nap!

Love you Much Class

This is what we made last night at my Love you Much class! Participants who bought the bundle came and stamped all of these items in about 3 hours! We had a great time getting to know a new stamping friend - HEY JUDI!!

We used the Big Shot and Top Note Die for this cute little bagalope with a snack pak of M & M's inside, a full-size Valentine card, a cute basket with hearts for the sides, (I saw this done on another website and it was made as one piece! I tried it and had a heck of a time getting it to work right so I just stamped the hearts, cut them out, and attached to the base with sticky strip! The other way would probably be sturdier but this was easier!) We also made a mini pizza box with 4 - 3 x 3 cards and envelopes inside, easy peasy!!! And last but not least, we made a matchbook candy holder using the slit punch on each side to hold another snack pak of M&M's!

I'm doing a Valentine's Stamp Camp next Saturday night and will be doing completely different projects so stop by next Sunday and see what we made, or better yet, if you are a local stamping friend, sign up and come make the projects yourself!

We had so much fun at Hostess Club Meeting this month! These are the cards that we made.

I just love the new Just Buzzin' By set and the Raspberry Tart DSP from Stampin' Up! I also used the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder with my Big Shot from SU! I'm loving that

machine!! You all need to come over and give it a try, you'll want one too!!

The onsie card was at the request of one of my club members. We used the All in the Family set from SU, and the 'happy new baby' is from the Family Phrases set! Don't you love how Stampin' Up! makes coordinating stamp sets?? I sure do!

Tricks and Treats Class

My upline Rachel and I are teaching some classes together and these are the projects for the first one! This class will be held on Saturday October 11 at 1:00pm and on Thursday, October 16 at 7:00pm at the old Joe's Bakery building on 9th Street in Lawrence. Kansas Tornado

OK, I realize this isn't stamping related but I wanted to share some great pictures of a tornado that my husband and I took from our front porch last week! We live out in the country and have a soybean field across the road. You can see part of our driveway in the foreground of the second photo and my van in the first photo! Oops, I uploaded these backwards because the bottom photo was taken first! Of course, we made sure our children were in a safe place before heading out to the porch with the cameras! This tornado was moving from West to East pretty quickly so we only got about 9 pictures before it moved off to cause some damage to a friend's farm! No major damage but it twisted their trampoline into an unrecognizable heap and caused minor damage to the barn! No injuries to humans or livestock thank goodness! Their children were home alone when this hit and the 14 year old had the smarts to get herself and her younger sister into the Kwanza Hut (that's a storm shelter for those not familiar with the term!)! It's awesome to see Mother' Nature's fury in action but I think I've had my fill for now!! In my ummmm......40 something years in Kansas this is only the second tornado that I have seen!

Stamping Related - I'm starting a new venture with my upline in October. We are going to start offering classes in Lawrence, KS, (about 10 miles from my house) and see if we can get something different going! Lawrence and Eudora are hard markets for us with Stampin' Up!, it seems that the people here are very "artsy" but not particularly"crafty" so we will be focusing on paper art projects and techniques! We will start a new blog for that venture so watch for a link to appear so you can see what types of things we are offering together! These might just become "Classes by mail", too! Stay tuned for further details!

Clipboard Days to Remember

I'm using up some of my retired Designer Series papers and making things for the 8 craft shows I have before December! I used strips of DSP to form pockets to slip my monthly tags into! Nothing fancy but I like how it turned out! I've been really busy getting things ready for all the shows and I will be posting more pictures of them soon! Just finding the time to photograph, upload and figure out what to say has been a challenge lately! The kids are back in school so hopefully that will free me up a little for some of these tasks! I really want to share more!

Convention was a BLAST!!!!

WOOHOO!! We had a BLAST at Convention! This picture is me with my friends M.M. and C.P. They are friends from an on-line group I belong to and I met them for the first time in person at convention! It's so fun to finally put faces to the names!! I'm so glad I got to meet you girls!!! I wouldn't have missed the time I spent with you for anything!! I only wish we'd have had more time to spend together!!

I'm sooooo psyched about all the awesome new things I learned and all the new stamps and tools we are getting!! I am definately ready to have some workshops and classes to share all these new things with you! To get things started, don't miss my New Catalog Kick Off on Sunday, August 10, from 1-5pm. I'm going to design some fabulous cards with the new stamp sets I got from convention that you will get to make and take home with you! I'm also going to have refreshments and NEW CATALOGS!!! You won't want to miss this so please let me know that you'll be coming so I have enough projects prepared for all of you!! RSVP's are appreciated but everyone is welcome so bring your friends! Be sure to bring along your calendar so we can book a fun time with your friends that can't make it!

It's Convention Time!!

I'm leaving on a jet plane!! Oops, I just can't get that song out of my head!! But it's true! I am leaving Wednesday morning and flying to Salt Lake City for Stampin' Up!'s annual convention! I am soooo excited! Four whole days of stampin' with thousands of new friends! OK, so I haven't met any of them in person yet, but I'm sure I will come home with some new friends for life!! I will be home on Saturday and will have so much to share with you! Check back soon and see all the fun I had in Utah! And if you don't want to miss out on all this fun, join my team and we can go together next year!!! Better yet, join now and come with me to Regionals in September!!!
It's going to be a BLAST!!!

Grand Opening!! Go Suzie!!!

My best friend Suzie and her husband are having their Grand Opening for their orchard tomorrow! It's called Wagon Wheel Orchard!! They have been working very hard getting it ready to open to the public so I wanted to create something for them and this is what I came up with! What do you think??

The gift bag has the red apple paper from Summer Picnic from Stampin' Up!'s Occasions Mini catalog under the green layer, it's a little hard to see in the photo! I used my Cricut to cut out the lettering for the bag and for the picture frame next to it!

The picture frame is actually from the Target Dollar Spot and they came in a set of 3 for $2.50! I tried to stamp directly on the wood but since I don't have the craft pads it wouldn't take so I covered it in Whisper White card stock and then stamped the apples! On the bottom of the frame is tomorrow's date!

The memo board is also from the Target $2.50 spot! I stamped the apples from ABC Images along the right side and also on white card stock to cover the four magnets that came with the board! The apple post-its also came from Target's Dollar Spot! They are a little muted but they work!! I also attached a Dry Erase marker with the red gingham. The board is magnetic but it also works as a white board! I tried it!!

Baby Blue

Don't you think this would make a great "Welcome Baby", shower invitation or birth announcement?? I've had four boys and I'm DONE but I love everything baby! I can't wait until I can make these for birth announcement for a grandbaby (OK, yes I can wait)! It's adorable in Pretty in Pink too!

Beautiful Butterflies

First of all, sorry about the glare on this one! I'm a stamper, not a photographer! I made this set of tiles for my parents who were re-doing their bathroom! Mom has a butterfly theme going on and didn't want just plain white tiles around the bathtub, so this is what I came up with! I know that monarchs are oranges and not peaches but I improvised for her color scheme!

These are the glossy tiles so they are a bit difficult to stamp on without sliding around! I stamped them very carefully with Jet Black Stazon using Stampin' Up!'s Wonderful Wings (retired). Then sprayed them lightly with workable fixative (this helps hold the color onto the slick surface). Next, I colored the images using Stampin' Pastels and Q-tips. Finally, I sprayed them very lightly from about 12 inches away with several light coats of glossy sealant! I really needed them to hold up to light cleaning and the humidity of the bathroom. So far, so good!

My Awesome Stampin' Sister - Charmaine

Isn't this adorable?? It is a gift from my Stampin' Sister Charmaine! The water bottle is full of See's candy! I've never had See's before, we don't have them in this neck of the woods (at least I've never seen it), so I can't wait to dive in but I needed to take the picture first! OK, so I ate the Cadbury Mini Eggs before I took the picture, I couldn't help it they are my all-time favorite candy!! The adorable purse made with Berry Bliss DSP (#110749 - $9.95) is a mini scrapbook made with the Carousel Notes (#111344 - $11.95) from the Occasions Mini! I didn't order these note cards but I think I'm going to have to now!! Take a good look girls, we may just make this one at the Stamp Camp on June 27th!!! Isn't that little dress card precious?? I love the pinafore look! I have been waiting to get the Boho Backgrounds stamp set (#111072 - $15.95) and I am so glad to have it! THANK YOU so much Charmaine! You are the best!

Gift Set for Grandma!!

This was so much fun to put together! My Grandmother is in a retirement apartment complex now (we just celebrated her 90th birthday - GO GRANDMA!!) and they help each other adjust when a new resident moves in by pairing them up with someone who has been there awhile! Grandma wanted something to give to her new buddy, so this is what I came up with!

The gift bag was made to put all the other items in! The picture frame is magnetic on the back and came from the Target Dollar Spot (a couple years ago) I knew they would come in handy one day!! The notepad is a plain paper writing tablet and YES, I stamped every page with roses!! That took some time! I love the mini totes, there are 4 notecards (3 x 3) with envelopes inside. And last but not least - an altered candle! I'm hoping she doesn't burn it! Not that it can't be, but I know how forgetful older folks can be! I'm thinking of her safety!! But it did turn out pretty, I think!

It's been a wild couple of weeks!

It's been a wild three weeks! So sorry I have been missing in action! Things have been a little crazy lately and I've fallen behind with lots of things, like my NEW blog! Uh oh!!! That is one reason I thought a long time about whether to even start one! I knew there would be times that life would get in the way but I didn't expect it to be so soon!! Well, I'm back and I hope to keep up better in the future!!!

That being said, here is a picture of the projects we did last night at Hostess Club!

The center project is a sack purse made from a 6" paper sack with Sahara Sand cardstock front and back! You can't tell from this picture but we used the Sanded Background on the Sahara Sand and the Linen Background on the Bashful Blue layer! The Mother's Day card is a simple, but elegant, one layer card with a Bashful Blue backing! We used the Bloomin' Beautiful stamp set from the Occasions Mini!!

I just love this adorable little dress card! Isn't it cute?? I can see using this as an invitation to a little girl's first birthday (or any birthday for that matter), a first communion card, a bridal shower, or any feminine occasion!

I love having my Hostess Club over! The girls are all so much fun to be around! I am going to miss Kelly and Becky a lot, they are both graduating KU and moving out of state! Good luck with your new adventures Kelly and Becky!!

Getting Punchy!!!

Here is a card front that I just completed for a Utah Divas Swap! The swap rules were to use our punches to make art for our cardfront! I used ALOT of punches for this one! I used the 1 3/8" punch then cut the circle into fourths for the sun, the rays are from a flower on the Spring Flowers punch (retired, oops). I used the 3/4" circle punch for the wings on the ladybug, the 1/2" circle punch for the ladbug's body, the 1/4" circle punch for the ladybug's head, and the double cicle punch for the the ladybug's spots. I used the 1/2" circle punch for the caterpiller's body parts, and the Spring Flowers punch again for the antenna! I used my paper piercer for the ladybug tracks and cut slits in the "grass" with my scissors! This was a fun swap but very time consuming! I spent 7 hours on 14 card fronts! YIKES!

So now you know what I did with my Saturday! Sorry the picture isn't so great! I'm a stamper not a photographer! The only stamp used on this card was the verse from Stampin' Up!'s(c) Bugs & Kisses set! It was a great challenge! Give it a try yourself and e-mail me a picture of what you come up with!
